Getting there is half the Fun (and problem)
Here we are, Rita (my wife) and I, in the Toronto Airport Lounge around 8 AM, breakfast is done, Rita has her paper and coffee so is happy, life is good.
Yesterday things were different, last minute packing and finding out what we had left at home, scambling to recover. Usually I am more organized but having changed homes, after 20 years, only a few weeks ago, moving into a place that is still under renovation and preparing the place for use by others during the summer took over on the priority list. Needless to say most of our stuff is still in boxes so some things got missed. Example; USB cable for the camera, all my socks, bike lock, caps for some water bottles so far. The camera, which rolled down the road several times on my rides across Canada and new Zealand, was on its last legs so a new one will be in order rather than invest a small fortune in a new cable. It will certainly be easier to find a new camera besides I need the software on my new computet anyway. As for the socks, I'll be Sockless in Seattle tonight and until we find a store. Socks are much lower on the priority list than a camera.
Oh the tent, another saga. My new canoeing tent is compact and light and small so it was deamed to small for us spend the summer in and beside the super inflating air matresses wouldn't fit anyway. Along comes my daughters large tent until we pack and the 15 pounds puts us under the limit. Second daughter to the rescue yesterday with her 3 man tent 5 pounds lighter and easier to set up. Will it be waterproof? We are heading for the west coast after all. Oh well that is one advantage of 10" thick air mattress - the water has to come up pretty high before it reaches you then it floats with you on it, as long as you don't turn over in your sleep too much.
Got to go stay tuned. Bill

Hi Bill, It was great to see that you were there with your first Blog. I will be following, just like 3 years ago. Congratulations to Rita for joining you. God's Blessing to all.- George van der Kuur's sister Corrie
Hey Bill & Rita! Great to see that you've decided to keep a blog after all. It will be great to travel with you in this format. Hope you found some good socks this weekend and that your ride today will have you focusing on the trail ahead. Many blessings to you both - safe travels and happy sleeping. :-)

Hi Bill
Is Rita cycling too?
Wish I could be there but regrets get you no where. I did get the opportunity to train Julia Wissink to ride in a pack.
I'll just pump my way around the back roads of Ontario.
Say hi to Andy for me. Maggie W is visiting me tomorrow so we'll pull up some great memories of 2005.
Hope you stay dry.
Blessings for a smooth road

Hi Bill and Rita, I am following your journey and when I read about the temperatures and the climbing, I offer up a prayer for you. Not something I would even attempt to do. God bless you along the way. Looking forward to your return to Bloomfield/Picton in safety and good health. God be with you both!!!! Lynda Westervelt
